Bontebok National Park - Swellendam

Overlanding Trips

The Bontebok National Park is situated about 5Km outside Swellendam in the Western Cape.

The Bontebok Park is easily accessible from the N2 by a gravel road. All the roads in the park can be driven by a normal car.

Accommodation varies from Chalets to camping. The Chalets are very neat and some have been adapted to be wheel chair friendly.

At the campsites you can choose with camping with or without electricity. The nicest camps are those right next to the Breede River.

The campsite bathrooms are very neat and clean, some of the best I have seen in a camping area.

There are camps with trees and all campsites have some grass. I went there in the dry season, so there was not much grass left, but you can see the grass is there and in the rainy season it will be beautiful.

There are three hiking trails and you can also go for a game drive. It is a very small park.
