We had to use one of their cottages instead. It is a lovely tranquil place to stay. And yes, the phones lines are often "down" but don't let that stop you from just arriving at this place. As long as it is not over a long weekend or during school holidays, you could have this place all to yourselves like we did. We have a very fascinating and interesting country and so much that still has to be seen and experienced. I've no idea how or why Verkeerdevlei and that particular valley runs east/west and all the others run north/south. "Rose of the Karoo" restaurant has deteriorated, we walked in & literally walked out.The best is "Die Dorpshuis" opposite the shell garage in van Riebeeck street opposite the church. Popular place for bikers & travelers,it's a must for lunch on our off road bike trips from cape Town. An accurate and entertaining report. Been there with Nissan 1400 & 1150GS motorcycle.
